F5 Radar — Privacy Policy

Effective date: June 4, 2026
Applies to the F5 Radar mobile application (Android package com.op27no2.f5radar).

This Privacy Policy explains what information the F5 Radar app (“F5 Radar,” “the app,” “we,” “us”) collects, how it is used, and the choices you have. F5 Radar is a weather-radar and severe-weather information app. We aim to collect as little personal data as possible, and we do not sell your personal information.

F5 Radar does not require you to create an account or provide your name, email address, or other identifying details to use the app.

1. Information we collect

Location data

With your permission, F5 Radar uses your device’s approximate and/or precise location to:

Location is used to deliver these features and is processed on your device wherever possible. When alerts are enabled, location may be used to determine which geographic alert areas to subscribe you to (see Push notifications, below). You can grant, limit (approximate only), or revoke location access at any time in your device settings; doing so disables the location-dependent features.

Push notification token

If you enable severe-weather alerts, the app uses Google Firebase Cloud Messaging (FCM). FCM assigns your installation a registration token so notifications can be delivered. We use this token only to send weather notifications you have opted into. You can disable notifications at any time in the app or your device settings.

Diagnostics & usage analytics

We use Google Firebase Analytics and Firebase Crashlytics to understand how the app is used and to detect and fix crashes. These tools may collect:

This information is used to maintain and improve the app’s stability and quality.

Map service data

F5 Radar renders maps using the Mapbox Maps SDK. To provide and improve its mapping service, Mapbox may collect usage and device information, which can include location and identifiers, as described in Mapbox’s privacy policy (linked below).

Purchases

If you purchase an optional subscription, the transaction is processed by Google Play Billing. We do not receive or store your payment-card details. The app receives your purchase/entitlement status from Google Play in order to unlock paid features.

Server logs

When the app requests radar data from our servers, those servers receive standard technical information inherent to any internet request — such as your IP address, the requested radar site, and timestamps — which is used to operate, secure, and troubleshoot the service. We do not use this information to build advertising profiles.

Weather data

Radar imagery, watches, warnings, and historical event information are obtained from public-domain U.S. government sources (e.g., NOAA / the National Weather Service). This is public meteorological data, not your personal information.

2. How we use information

3. Third-party services

We rely on the following service providers, each of which processes data under its own privacy policy:

4. Sharing of information

We do not sell your personal information, and we do not share it with third parties except:

5. Data retention

We retain analytics and diagnostic data only as long as needed for the purposes described, after which it is deleted or aggregated. Provider-held data (Firebase, Mapbox, Google Play) is retained per those providers’ policies. Server request logs are kept for a limited period for operational and security purposes.

6. Security

We use reasonable technical and organizational measures, including encrypted (HTTPS) connections, to protect information. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

7. Children’s privacy

F5 Radar is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided us personal information, please contact us and we will delete it.

8. Your choices

9. Disclosures for U.S. state privacy laws

We do not “sell” or “share” personal information for cross-context behavioral advertising as those terms are defined under applicable U.S. state privacy laws. Depending on your state of residence, you may have rights to access, delete, or correct your personal information; contact us to exercise them.

10. International users

F5 Radar is operated from the United States. If you use the app from outside the United States, you understand your information may be processed in the United States and other countries where our service providers operate.

11. Changes to this policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Material changes will be reflected by updating the “Effective date” above and, where appropriate, through in-app notice. Continued use of the app after changes take effect constitutes acceptance.
